Snapchat adds fan celebration element to Euro 2024

With the knockout stages of Euro 2024 fast approaching, Snapchat has announced a variety of ways that Snapchatters can get involved in the event within the app and show their support for their teams through a variety of lenses and activations.

Snapchat has released 20 exclusive AR lenses for the event, designed to allow Snapchatters to turn any emotion or reaction to the action on the pitch into a meme that can be shared with friends and family within the app.

As you can see in the clip above, Snap features a variety of character portrayals and supporter effects that represent different aspects of the tournament.

Snap is also partnering with Nike and Adidas to develop “Kit Selector” AR lenses that allow Snapchatters to try on all of Nike and Adidas’ official EURO team kits. Users can also swipe up within the app to shop for supporter gear, a key part of Snap’s commerce expansion, extending its digital lenses into real-world products. The same applies to its Bitmoji characters and the clothes they can wear.

Snap also Deutsche Telekom The Euro 2024 AR lens series includes: Lufthansa and Sun Express They also announced some elements exclusive to Euro 2024.

Snapchat’s user base skews younger, making it the perfect platform for event tie-ins. Combine this with the fact that Snapchatters also have a strong interest in sports in general, and it’s clear that Euro 2024 will be a big focus for many of the app’s users, potentially creating opportunities for brand tie-ins and promotions.
