Stephen King’s Dark Tower series is made up of seven books, a prequel short story, and a later novel, so it’s safe to say it’s pretty much complete.
There’s apparently a TV adaptation in the works from Mike Flanagan, but as for the book itself, is that chapter over?

Well, we’ll never know. On Wednesday, King took to Twitter to share some fan art of protagonist Roland Deschaine walking through Mid-World, following up with a post that hinted we might be seeing the last of the gunslinger’s former homeworld.

“Mid-World is still there,” King wrote. “The towers are still standing.”
Mid-world is, of course, the name of the world that the series’ namesake, the Dark Tower, is based in, which itself holds together the fabric of the multiverse. It’s unclear exactly what King meant by this post, but it at least suggests that the horror master would be happy to revisit that world one day. He’s already returned to it. Wind through the keyholeis a novel set between volumes four and five, published eight years after the main story ended, so this may not come as much of a surprise.
Still, just because it’s on his mind doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing a Dark Tower sequel anytime soon. The “Upcoming Works” section of King’s official website is currently blank, but previous interviews suggest that King is currently working on another novel featuring his regular private investigator Holly Gibney.
