Alongside big Hollywood live-action films, Transformers have appeared on TV screens in multiple TV shows over the years. Transformers: Earthspark The second season just premiered on Paramount+ in June, but it looks like there’s something entirely new on the way.
Last week, animation studio TRIGGER ( Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Delicious in the dungeon) has revealed that they’re working on something to celebrate the latest milestone in their popular toy series: Robots in Disguise turns 40 this year, and the short teaser offers a brief glimpse of the series’ mascots, Optimus Prime and Megatron (as well as Bumblebee and Hot Rod), with their iconic designs and triggered re-imaginings from their famous G1 versions. (Interestingly, some eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that Transformers Animated!) But what exactly Trigger is working on — whether it’s a simple celebratory video or something bigger, like a teaser for an unannounced game — is currently being kept under wraps.
Transformers While the anime and cartoon have always worked closely together, this will be the third time the series has made its way into an actual anime. Transformers: Cybertron 2005 and Japan only Transformers GO! In contrast, Trigger is no stranger to the mecha scene, having been featured in 2018’s Darling in the Franxx, I have been working on mecha projects. Gridman Given the studio’s long history with the series, it will be exciting to see what Trigger does for the franchise’s birthday, because it’s sure to be something amazing.
