For the past 27 years, the US Labor Day holiday weekend has always seen a storm in the Atlantic, but not in 2024. In early September, the Atlantic basin was suspiciously quiet. The weather has been calm since Hurricane Ernesto slammed into the Caribbean in mid-August.
