Princess Zelda must escape from her prison, where she was thrown for suspected involvement in the mysterious “rifts” that appeared across Hyrule, and would normally be locked up until her longtime hero, Link, comes to her rescue.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of WisdomBut it doesn’t play out that way in this game, where Zelda can save herself and also save Link.
Echoes of wisdomZelda: Breath of the Wild is set to be released for the Switch on September 26th, and will be the first game to feature Zelda in a leading role. When Nintendo announced the game in June, The Legend of Zelda Enthusiastic developer Eiji Aonuma said the goal was to “create a new style of gameplay that breaks with past conventions” — in other words, new ways for Zelda to break out of her maiden role and exert her own powers.
It may look like a 2019 remake, but The Adventure of LinkThe brightly animated environments and lovable, big-headed characters are close to the inventive spirit of the last game in the Nintendo franchise. Tears of the KingdomAfter playing the game for over an hour in a recent demo, Echoes of wisdom To be a puzzle playground where everyone is in charge of their own adventure.
Zelda is not a skilled swordsman, so her powers are different by design. Wielding the Tri-Rod and with the help of a new character called Tri, she can create replicas of objects called “Echoes” and move through the world. There are plenty of things she can copy and create, from tables, beds, braziers to all kinds of enemies. Need to make a bridge? Stack some crates. Or a table. Or a bed, after taking a little nap on one. Want to fight a boss? Try unleashing a fleet of bat-like Keiths, or armoured Moblins.
The first part of the demo featured Zelda escaping from a prison, where she was just beginning to learn how to create echoes, and extended into parts of the game’s overworld. In a small village, I learned how to create a trampoline echo and used it to bounce onto rooftops. In a field, I unleashed spiked ball-like enemies and used others as battering rams. But it was the second half of the demo – a small dungeon complete with boss fight – that was the most satisfying.
Echoes of wisdom Not as expansive as modern games Breath of the Wild or Tears of the KingdomBut the exploratory mechanics are there: Zelda has a few other abilities unlocked later in the game, including the power to grab and pull or push items. When you combine the echoes (it’s unclear how many there are in total, but there were more than a dozen in the demo) with Zelda’s grabbing powers, there’s a lot of potential for some ridiculous solutions, like the flame-throwing penises people have made. tearsI especially enjoyed jumping over everything like a trampoline and hurling whatever I could find, be it rocks or enemy Echoes. Another player, according to a Nintendo rep, sent out an Echo to fight while he took a nap in bed.
