Given the deadly events of season one, it’s unlikely many of the previous cast members will return, though we do know that Ki-hoon will face off against the director’s front man (Lee Byung-hun), who’s back in the game. Squid Game Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has also said he’s interested in exploring the relationship between the frontman and his police officer brother, Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), suggesting that the latter likely survived the events of Season 1. We’ll have to wait until the new season premiere to find out if the brothers’ relationship has also survived.
“After vowing revenge at the end of season 1, Song Ki Hoon is back and joining the game once again,” they wrote in a letter to fans. “It looks like the frontman will be no easy opponent this time either. The intense clash between their two worlds will continue until the series finale of season 3 next year.
