Politically speaking, Donald Trump has made a lot of poor decisions lately. From choosing “couch fucker” J.D. Vance as his running mate to telling an audience full of African-Americans that Kamala Harris only recently “got black,” the candidate hasn’t done himself (or his campaign) any favors. The campaign’s latest gaffe was using a private jet owned by the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Another strange twist has been added to an already long list of bizarre developments in the presidential election: Trump appears to have flown on a plane once owned by his friend Epstein. The Miami Herald reports that Trump recently flew “in a Gulfstream with a serial number matching one of Epstein’s former planes.” Citing publicly available flight data, the Herald writes that the plane, which was adorned with a “Trump 2024” sticker, is now owned by a charter airline called Threshold Aviation Group.
The Post reported that Trump only recently started using the plane after his own jet, Trump Force One, suffered technical difficulties in Montana last week. After landing in Bozeman, Trump took off in Epstein’s old plane and visited several campaign hubs, including Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Denver and Aspen, Colorado.
Records show the Trump campaign claims it had no knowledge the plane in question had previously belonged to Epstein. When reached for comment by the Herald, a campaign staffer told the paper, “The campaign had no knowledge that the charter plane belonged to Epstein.” A spokesman added that the charter plane was commissioned by a contractor the campaign frequently does business with. “We heard about the previous owner through the media.”
Gizmodo has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
The Trump-Epstein connection is well-known, and from a PR standpoint, it’s not great. There are photos and videos of Trump and Epstein together, records of Trump riding on Epstein’s planes, testimony from Epstein’s housekeeper that Trump dined at Epstein’s house frequently, and many people who have publicly stated that the two were once friends. Of course, the kicker is that in 2002, Trump himself said about Epstein, “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Great guy. Great fun to be around. They even say he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and mostly young women.” So, sure, that’s not good.
To make matters worse, Jeffrey Epstein’s “Little Black Book” is scheduled to go up for auction this week, an event that is likely to bring even more attention to Trump’s ties to the deceased pedophile. The book contains a comprehensive look at Epstein’s personal network and is often referred to as a directory of the most influential people in the world. Trump’s name and the names of people connected to Trump also appear multiple times in the book.
