Donald Trump and his legion of racist, neo-fascist supporters are weird. That’s been true for a while, but the 2024 presidential election has finally brought it to the forefront. And Trump’s online supporters aren’t quite sure what to do about the allegations, other than to get weirder and weirder.
With President Joe Biden formally withdrawing from the presidential race two weeks ago and Vice President Kamala Harris taking his place as the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee, the atmosphere of the 2024 campaign has changed dramatically. During that rapid transition, Democrats have begun to explicitly point out just how weird Trump Republicans are. Whether it’s Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance claiming that childless people are “sociopaths” or Trump himself constantly touching and kissing the American flag, these people are objectively weird.
And underscoring the inherent weirdness of this far-right campaign is the thick corps of the weirdest idiots on the planet who insist that, in fact, it’s Harris and her supporters who are the weird ones. For example, former Trump advisor and professional dirty-trick harasser Roger Stone was pardoned by the 45th president before leaving office. What is he doing with X?

Oh, that’s amazing, isn’t it? This is an AI-generated image of President Biden. Stone either found it somewhere online or made it himself using an AI image-making tool. Either way, spreading a weird image like this doesn’t do you any favors, man. It’s just too weird to even have in the Capitol.

Again, this is really weird. These guys are just weird. Even aside from the totally fabricated weirdness of the online memes that Vance supposedly wrote about in his book, Hillbilly Elegy Rumors circulated that he had sex with Sofa. While there is no evidence that Vance ever had sex with Sofa, his attempts to laugh off the allegations are downright pathetic. Vance even tried to joke at a rally on Tuesday that his wife was trying to get him to sleep on Sofa.

They may try to make a joke, but they always somehow end up making it weirder, and Trump’s own failed child, Donald Trump Jr., embodies the weird label more than anyone.

They are all very strange people, and there are so many examples of them on social media right now.
Trump, meanwhile, is clearly upset that he and his supporters are being perceived as outlandish. The former president sat down with Fox News propagandist Laura Ingraham on Tuesday to try to spin the strange allegations against Harris.
“It’s all a scam. It’s just weird. You know who’s weird? She [Harris] “She’s obviously weird. She’s a weird person,” Trump said.
This is Trump’s attempt at an “I’m rubber, you’re glue” defense, but it’s pretty pathetic. And the wannabe dictator continues to embarrass himself on the national stage, like when he was interviewed at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago on Wednesday. Trump got very defensive when asked real questions, even trying to claim that VP Harris isn’t actually black. Trump also attacked one of the interviewers, an ABC News journalist, and put on one of his craziest performances due to the fact that it was the first time he’d been asked a truly challenging question in a long time.

Simply put, it was weird. Trump is weird. And as everyone has seen at recent rallies, he’s struggling. Speaking in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday night, Trump belted out all the hits, including a bizarre reference to the fictional character Hannibal Lecter.
Trump and his supporters are pushing genital exams at kids’ sporting events, using apps to send our porn viewing habits to our kids, and falsely claiming that Democrats want to abort babies after they’re born. They’re fundamentally weird people, and just stating things clearly is really powerful, especially when Trump makes it easy.
