Using AI chatbots and voice assistants makes it harder to spot errors

While the conversational tone of an AI chatbot or voice-based assistant may seem like a good way to learn and understand new concepts, when compared to information presented like a static Wikipedia article, it may actually make you more likely to believe inaccurate information.

To explore how the way we receive information changes our perceptions, Sonja Utz and her colleagues at the University of Tübingen in Germany asked about 1,200 participants to take part in one of three formats.
