If you’ve been online in the past week, you’re probably familiar with the “so thoughtful, so modest, so cute” agenda. It’s a favorite phrase of pop stars and politicians, and has even appeared on the feeds of Jennifer Lopez and the White House. And all that attention has helped its creator, TikTok user Jules Lebron, cover the remaining costs of his gender transition.
In a TikTok posted earlier this week, LeBron explained how her videos (most of which show her being “so attentive, so subdued, and so cute” throughout her day) have made a big difference in her life in a short amount of time.
Why is everyone online being “very low key, very careful” right now?
“Hey, pendeja,” she tells her viewers, using the Spanish word for “idiot,” “you should make a video too, because I used to make videos on my breaks while working as a cashier, and now I travel all over the country hosting events that will help pay for the rest of my transition.”

In another video, LeBron explains that although he’s overwhelmed with all the attention, he is certainly living his dream.
Madison Warner, a transgender content creator who posts about social justice issues affecting her community, pointed out on Instagram that LeBron’s success is a win for transgender women around the world. “Transgender women are gender experts through their lived experiences,” Warner wrote. “The ‘modest’ trend is a comedic commentary on and recovery of ideals of femininity that have been historically suppressed. For some transgender women, this ‘quiet elegance’ is a means of survival.”
LeBron has been booked and busy since her lifestyle became popular online: Dozens of major brands regularly comment on her videos, she attended an event for beauty brand Patrick Ta in New York and collaborated with kombucha brand GT’s Synergy in Los Angeles.
At the time of publication, her most-viewed video, in which she describes her “very modest, very careful” journey to work, has been viewed 29.9 million times.
