Key Takeaways
- Apple One is a subscription bundle that combines a variety of Apple services and offers better value than buying each subscription individually.
- There are three plans available: Individual, Family, and Premier, each of which offers different services and iCloud storage options.
- Apple One saves subscribers money, with savings ranging from $9 to nearly $29 depending on the plan.
In addition to its impressive lineup of smartphones, laptops, desktops, and tech accessories, Apple is perhaps best known for how all of its products work together to create the mythical Apple Ecosystem. The way all of the company’s devices work together is magical, providing a compelling reason to stick with the brand’s gear.
However, this integration isn’t limited to Apple hardware, but relies heavily on a range of subscription services that further enhance the experience of using an iPhone or MacBook: Apple Music, Apple TV+, iCloud and more make the time you spend in front of a screen even more enjoyable and productive.
That being said, joining each of Apple’s subscription programs can quickly get expensive, especially if you want the whole family to have access to all those perks. Luckily, Apple has thought about that and come up with Apple One, a subscription program that lets you save precious money by getting all your favorite subscriptions in a convenient bundle.

Why Apple won’t give you more than 5GB of iCloud storage for free
You need iCloud to back up everything from your photos to your apps, but Apple offers very little free storage. Here’s why.
What is Apple One?
Subscription packages for Apple services
Apple One is a subscription service bundle similar to Amazon Prime and Google One, but unlike the latter it isn’t just focused on cloud storage with a few little extras – it’s got a bunch of other perks from Apple neatly wrapped up in one monthly payment.
Apple’s subscription bundle includes five standalone services: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and Apple Fitness+. Additionally, the bundle also expands your iCloud storage. Depending on your subscription level, you can get anywhere from 50GB of cloud storage up to 2TB of online disk space. This could be a game-changer if you’re also running low on photo backup space.

What’s included in Apple One?
Learn more about Apple’s services
Thanks to the Apple One subscription, it’s easy to get started with all the services the Cupertino-based company has to offer, which means you can expect the most useful subscription services to be included, including Apple Music, Apple TV+, and more, depending on the subscription level you choose.
Importantly, in addition to these subscription services, each Apple One subscription tier also comes with the added benefit of increased iCloud storage. Considering the free tier only includes 5GB of storage, this is a huge bonus to add on top of all your other subscription services. When you purchase Apple One, you can expect the following benefits:
Apple One Benefits |

Additionally, the service also comes with a host of extra features like spatial audio and live music radio stations, and of course, no ads. |
Apple Arcade |
Apple Arcade is the company’s first foray into gaming, and it gives users access to a collection of over 200 high-quality games without ads or additional in-app purchases. All games can be played online or offline on Apple devices, although most are targeted to mobile devices rather than PCs. |

How much does Apple One cost?
Tiers and Pricing
As we mentioned before, Apple One actually has several price tiers, which allows you to customize your bundle to your needs and get only what you need without paying for services you don’t use. These tiers differ in three main ways aside from price. First, the amount of iCloud storage you get. Second, the highest tiers include more subscription services in the price, allowing you to save even more. Finally, the Family and Premier plans allow you to share all included subscriptions with up to five family members. Here’s what you get with these plans:
plan |
price |
What’s included? |
---|---|---|
Individual |
$19.95 |
Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud+ storage. |
family |
$25.95 |
Up to five family members can enjoy Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and share 200GB of iCloud storage. |
Premier |
$37.95 |
It includes all the previous perks, but increases the shared iCloud+ storage to 2TB and adds subscriptions to the News+ magazine and newspaper service and the Fitness+ service. |
When deciding which plan to go with, keep in mind that Family and Premier plans allow you to add up to five users to your subscription. Individual plans don’t allow you to add users to the entire bundle, although some subscriptions, like Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, still offer this feature.
Apple One saves you money on Apple’s suite of subscriptions, but the amount varies depending on the plan: The $20/month individual plan saves you about $9 over subscribing to all the included services individually, while the $26/month family plan saves you about $11.
But the really good deal option is the Premier plan, which costs $29.95 per month but saves you about $29. Most of the savings here are the additional News+ and Fitness+ subscriptions that aren’t included on the cheaper plans.
To help you save even more, customers in the US who pay with Apple Card will receive an additional 3 percent cash back.

Is there a free trial?
Try before you buy
Like Apple’s other single subscription services, Apple One also includes the ability to try the entire subscription bundle for free, but there are some caveats to keep in mind.
If you are new to Apple’s subscription services, you will receive a one-month free trial and all subscriptions will be free. However, if you already have some paid subscriptions, only the new subscription will be eligible for the free trial, and your existing subscriptions will be charged as usual during the trial period. Once the trial period ends and you switch to a paid Apple One plan, these separate charges will go away and you will only pay for the combined Apple One subscription.
