From the breakout success of the first two movies to permeating every aspect of pop culture, it’s one of those franchises that gets noticed whenever something new is released. And Alien: RomulusFede Alvarez’s new film, , is much more than that.
The film is by Ridley Scott alien James Cameron’s alienThat leaves us with a gap of about 60 years. But do we really need to watch those films again to make sense of it all? And what about the other two direct sequels, the two more modern prequels, and those? versus Is it a movie?
Well, there is good news and even better news. The good news is, Alien: Romulus No preparation is necessary. This movie was made to be a cool movie with a simple story that anyone can understand. But the better news is that if you watch basically any other movie, alien When you watch a film, you find something that you can enjoy and appreciate on a whole other level.
Of course, the most important thing is the original movie. Romulus There are some direct connections. I won’t spoil the connections here. So if you only have time to watch one movie, watch that one. And the only other movie you’re going to see is —Alien, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Prometheus, Alien: Covenant— It’s not directly related, but it reminds me of the flavor Alvaraz sprinkles throughout his films, like: Alien Resurrection (Me too) — well, there were a few moments when I excitedly pointed at the screen like Rick Dalton. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood meme. This is pretty much true for other films too. There’s a direct link to the 1979 original, and everything else is just the colors in the palette Alvarez uses to paint his paintings.
But honestly, repeat viewings make any day better. alien or alienThe day you see it later this week will definitely be better. Alien: RomulusIt hits theaters on Friday.
