Are you planning on cancelling your Disney+ subscription?
Surprise! Disney is increasing the price of Disney+ again. Pocket-lint’s Amanda Kondolojy has all the information you need in the linked article, but to summarise: Starting October 17th, standalone subscriptions will cost $10 per month for ad-supported users and $16 per month for premium subscribers. For reference, Disney+ was $7 per month without ads when it launched just under five years ago. Do you think Disney+ is still worth it? If so, will you still be paying for the service come October?
Tell me a lie
Heartbreak and Conflict
Tell Me Lies, the Euphoria-esque drama about college students making bad decisions and tumultuous lives, is returning for a highly anticipated second season. The story picks up with Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Steven (Jackson White) no longer speaking to each other, and the students reunite at Baird College in the aftermath of the first season. Producers promise a more inclusive portrayal of the supporting cast, richer character development and more diverse storylines.
LEGO Star Wars: A Galaxy Rebuilt
And fix the franchise
Outside of Andor, the best Star Wars content of the past seven years has involved LEGO characters. Halloween stories, holiday stories, and summer vacation-themed specials all stood out as fun and entertaining with far more adventurous and diverse storylines. Taking a chance and engaging a fanbase that isn’t always resident online, LEGO Star Wars Story brought some much-needed excitement and zaniness to the franchise. With a multiverse twist, Rebuild the Galaxy looks like another worthy entry into this nearly annual series. And maybe they’ll finally do the right thing for Jar Jar.
Agatha All Along
The witch is back
I’m not sure what to make of this latest Marvel TV series, but I remain optimistic. As with LEGO Star Wars, if you want a more ambitious, multi-faceted look at a familiar universe (in this case, the MCU), Disney’s streaming service seems like the way to go. Agatha All Along is a spinoff of the titular witch introduced so long ago in WandaVision, and it’s a bit of a fun story. Of the Marvel series, it seems like the ones with the lowest stakes are the ones with the most interesting ones, so maybe this one will actually do something interesting.
