“Our creator responsibility guidelines make clear that when a creator’s off-platform behavior harms our users, employees or the ecosystem, we may take action to protect our community, including demonetization,” YouTube’s statement about demonetizing Dr. Disrespect’s YouTube channel read. “While these behaviors are rare, they can cause widespread harm to the YouTube community and erode trust among creators, users and advertisers.”

It’s unclear how much Beam will lose by demonetizing his Dr Disrespect channel. Social Blade The channel’s annual revenue is estimated to reach six figures, but this does not take into account the loss of Beam due to the expiration of an exclusive partnership agreement.

Beam said Twitch paid him as part of a partnership agreement the two companies signed as part of the settlement. Rolling Stone Beam missed out on a similar possible deal with YouTube, according to the report.

Former YouTube head of gaming partnerships Ryan Wyatt told the outlet that the company was unable to independently verify the allegations years ago, but after YouTube heard rumors about Beam’s inappropriate relationships with minors, the company decided not to pursue a partnership deal with the streamer.

We now know that the rumors were true, and as a result, Beam not only lost his exclusive deal with YouTube, but also basic monetization as a creator on the Dr Disrespect YouTube channel.
