DC Studios may not be in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con, but that didn’t stop James Gunn from dropping a bombshell. Gunn, the writer-director and co-head of Warner Bros.’ DC Media Universe, was there to give us the first look at the new DCU era. Creature Command.
During a surprise appearance at Jim Lee’s panel at Comic-Con, Gunn gave the first tease of the DCU’s first big project, the animated series. Creature Command.
The seven-episode series stars Rick Flagg (Senior This time, he will be playing the son in the live-action version, rather than the son played by Frank Grillo. Peacemaker Season two producers Jerry Brown and Amanda Waller (with DC regular Viola Davis returning at this point) team up to assemble a tag-team of renegade weirdos, but this time they can’t use Task Force X. So… enter the Task Force. MaFor the Monsters: A team of inmates held at Belle Reve prison who Waller is preparing for a mission so cruel it’s not worth sending any humans on.
The series will feature voice cast members Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, and Indira Varma as the Bride. Steve Agee will also star as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, and Anya Chalotra as Circe. Creature Command will begin streaming on Max this December, ushering in a new era for the DCU as we know it.
