It’s still a few months away Daredevil: Born AgainBut season 2 has already been confirmed and is set to begin filming soon. The news was quietly announced during Friday night’s main D23 panel, which was packed with all things Marvel, including the premiere of the show’s first season in March. The trailer hasn’t been released online yet, but here’s what we saw there:
The trailer begins with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) talking to a man in prison. The man talks about how bad the city has become and how they need someone to protect the people. They need a hero. As he speaks, footage is shown of graffiti, crime scenes, and a particularly shady situation on the subway. A fight breaks out.
Foggy (Elden Henson) tells Matt that the system is against him. It’s like David vs. Goliath. Matt is shown in an old, rundown building. A bearded Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) shoves Matt into a wall. Matt asks if he can put his axe down, and we see Matt holding a small axe in his hand.
The Kingpin is shown from behind in various scenes, sporting a sinister expression, and the words “The Devil’s work… is never done” flash on screen. We also see five different Daredevil masks, as well as brief shots of other masked characters. Eventually, the scene cuts to Kingpin and Matt sitting across from each other in a diner.
In a tense moment, Matt says, “If you break the rules, I’m coming.” The Kingpin replies, “Who’s telling you this? Matt or your dark half?” and begins laughing. Matt smiles and we see shots of him as Daredevil, beating up bad guys. He whips a man with his trademark baton and punches another man multiple times in the face, knocking him down. Finally, red, cracked glasses fall to the ground and someone asks, “What kind of lawyer are you?” Matt replies, “I’m a really good lawyer.”
Daredevil: Born Again It will debut in March.
