Probably every one of America’s most gullible, Facebook-addicted old men believes that Kamala Harris is holding communist rallies.
Former President Donald Trump has taken to using AI imagery to portray himself in this way, in an apparent attempt to make his latest offensive nickname stick. Trump calls his vice president “Comrade Kamala,” which, frankly, sounds too cool to be an insult. Right-wingers have started calling Harris “Comilla,” with attacks centered on linking her economic plan to communism.
Which all explains why Trump posted perhaps the most obviously AI-generated image in history, showing Harris speaking at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where Communist flags and red propaganda are everywhere.

While AI is not necessarily going to turn the world upside down as some evangelists have suggested, it is already influencing the 2024 presidential election. Trump, in particular, seems to be leaning into this. Earlier this week, Trump “accepted” the endorsement of Swifties, a largely AI-generated group of Taylor Swift fans who “support” Trump. Look around the internet and you’ll see Trump fans creating some bizarre AI creations praising the candidate and slamming Harris.
