Looking at Laurence Fishburne’s filmography, one cannot help but notice the impressive variety of sci-fi work. matrix Of course, it’s a trilogy. Transformers One, Slingshot, Megalopolisand AstronautSure, he’s known for his dramas (and Oscar nominations), but it’s clear Fishburne is a big fan of sci-fi, and in a new interview, he reflected on just how deep his love for the genre runs.
In an interview with Variety magazine, Fishburne excitedly said, “I love Transformers.”[sci-fi] “Science fiction is one of my favorite genres,” he said when asked how he became a sci-fi fan. “It’s very simple, I’m a product of my time,” he told the industry. “I was born in 1961, but when do you think I fell in love with science fiction? I fell in love with it on TV. Star TrekIt was the first TV show in America to have a multi-ethnic crew. Star Trek And in the future, you will see people like me out in space.”
He continued: Trek There were a lot of other actors I liked on the show, too. “The show had a lot of guest actors, like William Marshall, who played Dr. Richard Daystrom, a brilliant scientist who built an amazing, sentient computer. There were a lot of people on it, and that’s where my first love of science fiction started. And then, shortly after, Star WarsAnd I Planet of the ApesI loved quirky movies like the ones with David Bowie. The man who fell to earththis was one of my favorite movies. Soylent Green It’s great, Omega Man.”
Slingshota sci-fi psychological thriller about a desperate and difficult mission to one of Saturn’s moons, co-starring Casey Affleck, is in theaters now.
