4 main reasons why no one will buy a PS5
PS5 sales are slowing faster than expected, and we know some of the main reasons why.
1 King of Meat
Amazon’s cooperative dungeon crawler
Amazon has two big hits, New World and Lost Ark, but both were more hardcore MMO games. Glowmade’s King of Meat is completely different from those games. It has a fun art style and seemingly simple gameplay that will appeal to gamers of all ages, plus a satirical setting that seems surprisingly humorous. I’m already obsessed with the rubber ducks that double as grenades. You are a player in a new reality show, sent into a dungeon full of monsters, trying to grab as much loot as you can to spend on new moves and costumes. The game can be played by up to four people, and you can even create your own dungeons to share.

2 Indiana Jones
No longer an Xbox exclusive
As the event concluded, we got pretty much everything we wanted to know about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Well, everything except the title improvement. Narrated by Troy Baker, who plays Indy, he lavishes love and praise on the character while hinting at the game’s mysteries. He promises a thrilling first-person adventure that rivals the movies, with plenty of dangerous battles, ancient puzzles, and exotic locations to explore. The first big announcement was the December 9 release date, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. Despite being produced by MachineGames, a subsidiary of Bethesda, which is also part of Xbox, Indiana Jones will also be coming to PS5 in spring 2025.

3 Dune Awakening
Spicy Trailer
This Dune game has been floating around for years, but we finally get to see what life on Arrakiss will be like. This detailed trailer details the vast amount of options and gameplay mechanics in the game. As a new MMO-like experience, you’ll have tons of gear for your character, skills and abilities for different combat styles, but also a fully customizable base that you can travel to wherever you want and team up with friends in guilds. If it can successfully combine all these elements, Dune Awakening could be a contender to be the next hit survival MMO.

4 Borderlands 4
It’s better than the movie
After only a small tease, Borderlands 4 is now officially confirmed to be releasing in 2025. With the Borderlands movie being such a flop, there’s a lot of bad press surrounding the series and confidence in the new game probably isn’t as strong as it should be. Gameplay remains paramount, but the script will be under even more scrutiny this time around. Honestly, I’m not sure if Gearbox can pull it off, but it’ll be exciting to see them try.

5 Civilization 7
Scheduled for release on February 11, 2025
Mark your calendars, Civ fans. Or maybe it would be more accurate to say flip your calendars. Civ 7 is coming to take your life in February. I only found out about this game at the beginning of summer, so it’s a very pleasant surprise to see it coming out so soon. So far, it seems like a game of Civ, for better or worse. It will probably take a few expansions to match the depth of the last one, but that’s the way Civ cycles go. If you’re looking forward to this expansion, don’t forget to watch the full gameplay stream hosted by the team to find out who the new narrator will be.
