The Toxic Avenger is a remake of Michael Hertz and Lloyd Kaufman’s 1984 Troma film, in which Dinklage plays a health club cleaner named Winston. After being diagnosed with an incurable disease and his bosses are unwilling to pay for his treatment, Winston tries to get revenge and falls into a toxic waste bin, deforming his body and gaining superhuman strength, which he decides to use to become the titular hero. The film, which also stars Elijah Wood, Taylour Paige and Kevin Bacon, seemed to be getting decent reviews at Fantastic Fest, but the director acknowledged that it probably won’t be to everyone’s taste.
