Biles’ routines are among the most difficult flips performed by anyone on the mat, and they are some of the greatest gymnasts in history. Her final pass (usually the least difficult of a typical three- or four-pass routine) is scored almost as highly as any other gymnast’s most difficult flip. She also has a move named after her.

Overall, Team USA delivered some strong performances, but tensions ran high in the first round of qualifying. Li herself earned a stellar 13.533, while floor exercise virtuoso Jordan Childs earned an astounding 13.966, leaving her and her team in tears on the mat.
